PrioritizationPrioritization helps you figure out where to start, when you have a long list of things to do. Standard methodThe standard way to prioritize is the intuitive way. First, make a to-do list. Then, number each item in the list, according to how important it is and how soon it must be done. This method works for many people. Alternative method (for procrastinators)If the standard method does not work for you, then you may be a procrastinator. Fortunately, there is an alternative. The alternative method of prioritization requires you to complete your tasks in reverse priority order. It sounds illogical, but it can be a very productive technique for procrastinators. For example, it may be easier to fill out a form that must be submitted in 2 weeks than to write a proposal due in 2 days. By filling out the form first, you would be procrastinating, but in a productive way. |
