Worked and slept on the stairs

"My mother's house had these nice, carpeted stairs. I would sit on them and do my homework because I couldn't get myself to do any work while sitting at a desk.

Over time, sitting and doing my homework on the stairs grew to be torture. I could not sit still anymore. I procrastinated for long periods and then went to the stairs to do my homework.

If I was tired and still had work to do, I would sleep on the stairs as punishment. It felt awful. I wish I had tried other methods of time management, because doing this constantly was stressful and upsetting."
