Using the Internet for pseudo-work

"At home I told myself I was doing work and making progress. I was really just using the Internet to pretend that I was doing work.

The web can be useful and a great timesaver. However, spending too much time on the web can be a problem. It especially wasn't fun because I felt stressed the whole time, thinking that I was accomplishing a lot, when in reality I was accomplishing nothing through all those hours of pseudo-research.

I realized that I had to set limits for myself. I had to stop browsing the web after a certain point (a very short period, knowing my problem) and get back to producing actual work."
