Couldn't stop my boss from assigning me more things to do

"I am writing because I think my situation is pretty common. I worked for this guy who kept giving me more and more things to do. I was overwhelmed, but I kept accepting the work.

I couldn't stop him because I thought I would get on his bad side. I wanted to show him how good I was and that I could handle anything. It's hard being a girl in a professional world dominated by males, because you always think you have to prove yourself.

I stayed late at the office everyday and thought it was normal. I had way too many things to do and couldn't manage getting them done in any other way. Now I realize that a big part of time management is refusing new things to do when you just can't handle any more."
