Addicted to television

"In high school when I got home each day, I would watch television for a couple of hours. There was nothing to watch, but I watched anyway because I couldn't get myself to start my homework.

I spent so many hours of my high school life in front of that television, watching junk. If I had done my homework first and then watched television, I could have at least watched shows that I enjoyed. However, I watched boring, trashy talk shows that meant nothing to me.

I was addicted to the habit because it was better than doing my homework. I felt guilty every time I turned on the television, though, because it took away the time that I could have spent with friends and family. I could have had a much better social life."
